About Leanne Taylor
Leanne is a qualified teacher with QTS status, she has been working in the education system for 21 years.
Over the years she has been appointed head of a department working with post 16, she has supported students with social, emotional and mental health challenges, taught secondary aged teenagers with special educational needs and has been an early years teacher for under fives.
Leanne decided to take a leap of faith, leaving full time employment to set up and run her own business. She now spends her time working as a dog walker and dog trainer offering gundog and behaviour training.
Leanne is an experienced dog handler and has owned dogs for 22 years. These vary from rehoming dogs with complex backgrounds to now having two gundog breeds, Willow (labrador retriever, aged 3 years) and Mouse (working cocker spaniel, aged 6 months). These were influenced from her exposure and interest of gundog training thanks to Helen Phillips.
Willow and Leanne have achieved the Gundog Club Grades 1 & 2 with Distinction and are currently working towards Grade 3. Willow has experience on a shoot day as a picking up dog.
Leanne and Mouse are focussing on the foundations to their training by building a strong working partnership through fun learning and play. They are hoping to achieve their Grade 1 by the end of the year and train to work on the beating line when Mouse is ready.
Leanne has attended the GTA handlers course and is in the process of becoming a GTA accredited instructor. She also has a qualification in Canine First Aid, Canine Body Language, Breed and Predatory Motor Patterns, Separation Anxiety and Related Disorders, Red Flag Behaviours and Canine Emotional Health and Canine Adolescence.
For Clicker Gundog, Leanne has helped on the Winter Camps and Foundation for Gundog classes with Lynsey, she has also been present on shoot days.
