About Sam Negus

Having spent over 10 years owning and running a successful independent cinema in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, Sam took advantage of the business closure during the 2020 pandemic to retrain as a dog trainer.

Sam has worked with dogs in various roles since 2004, including positions at rescue and boarding kennels, as well as serving as a Guide Dog Puppy Raiser.

Realising how much she missed working outdoors with dogs, Sam enrolled on the Gundog Trainers Academy Handler's Course and then Teacher's Course.

In 2025, Sam became a qualified accredited gundog training instructor with the GTA and an accredited animal training instructor with the ATBC.

The same year, Sam also became a City & Guilds qualified Detection Dog Handler and Instructor.

She now teaches puppies, basic obedience, fun pet gundog classes and scentwork.

Sam and her working cocker Callisto have achieved the Gundog Club Grade 1 and are working towards Grade 2. Both are frequent participants on Clicker Gundog shoots.
