Our three-day Going for a Bumble camp will help you teach your working and pet gundog the difference between going out hunting and going out for social pleasure, i.e. a walk.
There is a great deal of debate, conflict and confusion around the subject of whether to let your dog run free, off lead in the countryside, irrespective of whether it is a family pet or a working gundog.
In this in-person workshop, you will learn the ultimate steps to communicate with your pet or working gundog the difference between ‘going for a walk’ and ‘going hunting’ in the same stimulating environment.
Our Going for a Bumble Camps, led by Helen, Lynsey and Sam, are suitable for…
- All breeds of gundog including retrievers, spaniels and HPRs
- Gundogs working at all levels
- Pet gundog owners
- Those looking to work their dog in the field or participate in working tests
- Those who have worked their dogs on the shoot and are struggling to keep them close now that the season has finished
- Anyone with a gundog which makes a beeline to the horizon as soon as they are off lead, which enjoys chasing wildlife, and which often becomes too engrossed in hunting to respond to cues like recall.
- Anyone who has previously watched the Gundog Trainers Academy 90-min online “Going for a Bumble” webinar and wants to further this learning.
Our Going for a Bumble Camps will cover topics including…
- Understanding the difference between hunting and bumbling
- How to create the bumble zone
- How to use rewards to maintain connection and partnership in challenging situations
- Teaching a check-in behaviour and how to progress this
- Teaching the catch-up game
- The art of “having a Kit-Kat” and learning to relax in a stimulating environment
- Creating an invisible piece of string between you and your dog using circuits
- Teaching your dog to change direction with you using the this-way game
- How to decide how far away your dog should be from you at any given point
- How to play hunting games to help keep your dog with you
- Progressing these games and bumbling in the real world
Those booking the camp will also be given free access to the Gundog Trainers Academy 90-minute online “Going for a Bumble” webinar (worth £30), which is presented by Helen, along with Jules Morgan. Your download will be sent automatically on purchase. If you do not receive or have any issues, please email hello@clickergundog.co.uk
