Clicker Gundog Training Centre, Charlton, Worcestershire, WR10 3LQ

There are no prerequisites for joining this two-part workshop, but you must have attended part one, or have had a 121 with Leanne, to attend part two. Please email hello@clickergundog.co.uk if you are only booking part two.

To get the most out of this workshop your dog should have been introduced to the clicker or a marker word and you should be familiar with using this for your training.

This progressive recall workshop series with Leanne will help you build a reliable recall, working through different levels of distraction at a pace that supports your dog’s learning and confidence.

You’ll get to know what your dog finds distracting, understand how this affects their ability to respond, and learn how to build towards a reliable recall in different environments.

Our recall workshops, led by Leanne, are suitable for…

  • All breeds of gundog, including retrievers, spaniels and HPRs
  • Pet gundog owners who would like their dog to come back when called, including around distractions
  • Those looking to participate in a Gundog Assessment Programme field assessment
  • Those looking to work their dogs in the field

Our recall workshop series will cover…

  • How to build a good connection with your dog
  • How to develop high-value rewards that strengthen your dog’s motivation to return
  • How to recognise your dog’s distractions and understand which they find most challenging
  • How to set your dog up for success when beginning recall training
  • How and when to introduce your recall cue
  • How to work progressively through different levels of distraction
  • How to help your dog apply their learning in new places
  • How objects and features within the environment can affect your dog’s attention and recall
  • How to recognise when your dog is ready for a greater challenge and when to make things easier
  • How to build a reliable response as the environment becomes more distracting
  • Where appropriate, working around the sound of shot, with introductions tailored to the dogs taking part

The series is broadly split into Part 1: Building the foundations and Part 2: Developing recall in different environments, with the content and pace adapted to the dogs taking part.
