Clicker Gundog Training Centre, Charlton, Worcestershire, WR10 3LQ

If you have not trained with us before, or your dog has not been exposed to shot, please contact hello@clickergundog.co.uk before booking this camp.

This three-day gundog training camp is open to spaniels training at all levels. From those building the foundation skills at GAP levels 1 and 2, all the way through to those working at GAP graduate levels 5 and 6 and looking to work their dog or take other assessments such as the Royal Kennel Club Working Gundog Certificate on dummies.

Helen will adapt each exercise to suit your dog’s experience and ability, ensuring everyone attending is challenged appropriately and supported to make progress throughout the camp.

Our Spaniel Camp, led by Helen, is suitable for…

  • All breeds of spaniel, at all training levels.
  • Those looking to develop their spaniel’s hunting and retrieving skills.
  • Those hoping to work their dog in the beating line or when rough shooting.
  • Handlers looking to participate in gundog assessments, working tests or trials.
  • Pet gundog owners who enjoy training for fun and want to give their dogs a rewarding outlet for their natural hunting instincts.
  • Dogs who have been introduced to the sound of shot and are not gun shy.
  • You do not need to have completed a particular course or passed a particular assessment to attend. Whether you are developing the basics or refining more advanced skills, Helen will tailor the training to help you move forward.

Our Spaniel Camp will cover topics including…

  • Hunting skills suited to spaniels.
  • Quartering, using the wind and covering ground effectively.
  • Retriever training, including marks, memories and blinds.
  • Water work.
  • Arousal management.
  • Building connection and clearer communication between you and your dog.
  • Work with starting pistols, dummy launchers and bolting rabbits, introduced as appropriate to the dogs taking part.

This will be a fun, task-based programme, with exercises adapted to the participants each day. Every dog will have opportunities to build confidence, stretch their existing skills and make meaningful progress over the three days.
